Saba Abashawl

Saba Abashawl is Deputy Director of External Affairs for the Houston Airport System (HAS). She oversees global industry relations, government affairs, business development and community engagement. She leads initiatives that strengthen air service connectivity and generate economic growth for Houston.

Abashawl has experience forging alliances with global business leaders and government officials. She previously led international business and economic development efforts for the City of Houston and has negotiated partnerships that expanded Houston’s reach as a global gateway.

Abashawl earned a master’s degree in international finance and business and a bachelor’s degree in marketing from the University of St. Thomas in Houston. She also serves in leadership roles with the Houston Hospitality Alliance, the Houston World Affairs Council and the Bilateral Chamber.
